Test Overview:
This test is used to screen for kidney disease by detecting the presence of albumin in the urine using an ACR (albumin-creatinine ratio), a calculation that divides the amount of albumin measured in the urine by the level of creatinine in the urine to account for urine concentration. Creatinine is a urine concentration indicator because it is released into the urine at a constant rate.
